USG Corporation Strengthens Its Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

CHICAGO (News release) -- USG Corporation, an industry-leading manufacturer of building products and innovative solutions, is proud to announce a series of initiatives that further strengthen the company's commitment to Diversity & Inclusion and celebrates the values and priorities of the business, its employees and its partners.

As part of this continued focus, USG will host its 10th Annual Diversity & Inclusion Champions Recognition Ceremony on April 17 to celebrate employees and select partners and customers who go above and beyond to be inclusive in the workplace. At the event, USG will honor its Diversity & Inclusion Supplier of the Year, Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), and Diversity & Inclusion Customer of the Year, Gensler.

"This year we celebrate 20 years of diversity as a core value, which is crucial to cultivating an engaged and innovative workforce focused on advancing our strategic objectives," said Jennifer Scanlon, president and chief executive officer of USG Corporation. "Diversity and inclusion enables us to attract and retain talented employees, connect with an increasingly diverse customer base and improve our ability to understand and compete in global markets."

To affirm the company's focus on diversity & inclusion growth, Ms. Scanlon signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ pledge - the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity & inclusion in the workforce. The investments and progress USG has made in this space are also highlighted in USG's recently released diversity & inclusion report.

Scanlon continued, "We are proud to celebrate the important contributions of our valued employees and partners who embrace our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and enable us to deliver the best service to meet the unique needs of our customers and in our communities."

Central to the company's commitment is its continued support of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education for young women and men who will be the next generation of workers in manufacturing, engineering, innovation and construction organizations.

USG has identified initiatives across the business, which will help accelerate the company's ongoing commitment to promoting workplace diversity:

Talent: Attracting, developing, and retaining top talent of all backgrounds
