The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said 13 crews and two specialist appliances were sent to the fire at the Sapphire Paper Mill in Leslie at about 05:15 on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

A spokesman for Fourstones, which owns the site, said all staff had been accounted for but emergency services remained at the scene.

He added: "We ask that all public stay away from the site for their safety and to allow emergency vehicles faster, easier access."

The SFRS advised residents near the Glenwood Road area to keep windows and doors closed where possible.
