Multiple departments respond to fire at PotlatchDeltic Forsyth Township, Michigan lumber mill

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. (From news reports) - Multiple fire department responded to a structure fire at a PotlatchDeltic Forsyth Township lumber mill Friday morning, Feb. 28.

News media arrived at PotlatchDeltic Corporation at 650 Avenue A in KI Sawyer at about 10:15 a.m. However, the reporter was not permitted to enter the property. A Potlatch employee said they have no comment at this time.

Sands Township Fire Department and Marquette County Search and Rescue 131 have confirmed they are providing mutual aid to Forsyth Township Fire Department. Local media was working to find out which other agencies were on scene, as well as where on the property the fire was, how it started, and if all employees were evacuated safely.

PotlatchDeltic owns 2.1 million acres of timberland and operates seven manufacturing facilities that produce lumber and plywood at mills in Arkansas, Idaho, Minnesota and the U.P.
