Lee & Man to upgrade five tissue machines with ViscoNip press technology

Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Ltd. will rebuild five existing tissue machines with new press technology at its mills in Chongqing, Jiangxi and Guangdong, China, according to Valmet.

The order includes an upgrade package for five Advantage ViscoNip presses to replace current shoe presses on machines designated TM 3, 9, 10, 11, and 12.

The Advantage ViscoNip press technology features an adjustable press load during operation and uses an innovative, soft pressing element. The company has prior operational experience with the technology, which is already installed on nine of its other Advantage DCT tissue machines from the same supplier.

The new presses will be integrated into Lee & Man's existing production lines to manufacture household tissue paper products. The company stated that the uniformity provided by the ViscoNip press ensures excellent moisture profiles and contributes to high-quality tissue paper.

The upgrade project is planned to proceed based on the Lee & Man Paper's positive experience with the performance and reliability of the existing ViscoNip installations.
