Tolko responds to COVID-19, 'remains open for business'

CANADA (From news reports) -- Like many other forestry companies, Tolko Industries shared their response to COVID-19, as follows:

Our top priority is ensuring the health and safety of our employees, customers, supply-chain partners and other stakeholders while continuing to provide our customers with the products and services you rely upon. Our objective is to take the appropriate precautions against potential exposure while ensuring business continuity and meeting customer needs.

With hundreds of employees, contractors and vendors at each facility, we have been actively planning and implementing actions to mitigate risks to our employees. We have implemented additional control measures that limit access to our site including screening all suppliers and trucks entering our facilities and minimizing physical contact in our shipping departments.

As part of this effort, travel and other restrictions have been implemented based on the recommendations of public health authorities. We have protocols in place to ensure that we continue to honour our commitments and supply the needs of our valued customers during this challenging time.

Although this is a complex and evolving situation, Tolko remains open for business. Our facilities continue to operate. Our sales, logistics and service employees are available. Safety is a core value; where possible, employees will be working from home and will be leveraging technology to support remote collaboration. Finally, our comprehensive in-market reload network will be used to support customer commitments.

We want to assure our customers that we have undertaken all practical steps to ensure that our businesses can continue to safely manufacture quality products. We will continue to closely monitor the unfolding COVID-19 developments and keep you informed with timely information as the situation develops.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to continuing to work with you.
