Louisiana governor visits Pratt Shreveport recycled paper mill; praises environmental commitment

America's fifth largest corrugated packaging company welcomed Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards to their facility in northwest Louisiana.

"We're honored to have Governor John Bel Edwards here with us today," said Anthony Pratt, Executive Chairman of Pratt Industries. "His economic leadership of Louisiana is characteristic of the reason that Pratt Industries has invested $250 million in the great state of Louisiana."

Over the past 30 years Pratt Industries has been dedicated to protecting the environment by harvesting the urban forest, and has brought their manufacturing facilities to more than 25 states. Shreveport is home to one of the five 100% recycled paper mills in the country.

Edwards said, "what they do is really special. It is consistent with the climate action plan we have in Louisiana, because it is 100% recycled."

Gov. John Bel Edwards visited Pratt Industries to discuss the $250 million investment in Louisiana.
Pratt has created around 250 jobs in Louisiana, investing $250 million through careers that are sustaining families and communities. The average wage at Pratt is $100,000 per year.

"We are gonna to be good partners for a very long time to come," said Edwards. "This is a good spot for continued investment in growth for Pratt."
