Fire at Graphic Packaging facility

KENTON, Ohio (From news reports) -- A piece of equipment used by Graphic Packaging in Kenton was destroyed by fire Thursday night, Oct. 5.

According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the warehouse facility at the plant located at 1300 South Main Street at around 10:20 Thursday night.

An ember in scrap paper material that was being compacted ignited the fire that ended up destroying the one million dollar baler.

Firefighters were on the scene for around three and half hours.

There were no injuries.

The Kenton Fire Department was assisted by the Mt. Victory Fire Department and BKP EMS.
