CANADA (From news reports) -- A large pile of logs at the Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp (MLMP) yard was on fire Oct. 27.

Residents started posting videos and pictures of the incident on social media around noon on Monday. The pulp mill is located at the junction of Highway 55 and 903.

The SPSA says it has sent out an emergency response team and is helping with aircraft and equipment.

One driver said he saw big plumes of black smoke while he was heading in the mill's direction and described the flames as being 20 to 30 feet high.

The Meadow Lake Fire Department is on scene and unable to provide any details while actioning the blaze.

Chris Stoicheff with the mill said there are no reports of injuries. It is unknown how the fire started.

Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp is owned by Domtar and produces pulp using a Bleached Chemi Thermal Mechanical Pulp process.
