Metsä Tissue appoints Tobias Lüning as Senior Vice President, Central Europe. Tobias has previously held various leadership positions within Metsä Tissue, latest as Vice President Supply Chain, West und Country Manager Germany.

This is my 52nd September in the workforce. I think management is tougher than ever. Think about it--when I started even OSHA did not exist. People were glad to have jobs and they put up with all sorts of things at work that simply aren't tolerated today, both from the standpoint of society's mores and from a labor regulatory perspective.

H.I.G. Capital ("H.I.G."), a leading global alternative investment firm with $45 billion of equity capital under management, is pleased to announce that one of its affiliates has completed the acquisition of Jackson Paper Manufacturing and Sustainable Corrugated ("JPM").

The latest investment is being used to expand the current Grand Rapids facility by adding an additional 55,000 square feet for manufacturing, warehousing and office space. In total, the Grand Rapids facility will now have 205,000 square feet to meet increasing demand for high quality films and support services.

Employees at Resolute Forest Products' Ignace sawmill proudly presented three $5,000 cheques to Blessing in a Back Pack, Northern Critters in Need and the Mary Berglund Community Health Centre for the Ignace Food Bank at a ceremony held August 26 at the facility. Employees earned $10,000 of prize money through Resolute's Board of Directors Safety Award program for achieving 500,000 consecutive hours of work without a recordable injury, as well as $5,000 for reaching a 75% double vaccination rate against COVID-19.

The turn-key project includes stock preparation, tissue machine with air systems and rewinder, complete electrification and automation, and pumps.

Eight disk filters will be installed at Zhejiang Shanying Paper's facilities in Jiaxing City, China. The others will be installed at Guangdong Shanying Paper in Zhaoqing City, China.

Valmet will supply key paper machine technology, which includes several upgrading works, to Muda Paper Mills Sdn. Bhd. for its PM 9 in Malaysia.
