Update: OSHA investigating death of 54-year-old man after incident at Verso Wisconsin Rapids paper mill
WISCONSIN RAPIDS (From news reports) -- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death of a contractor Saturday at the Verso paper mill in Wisconsin Rapids.

The Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department responded to an ambulance call at about 2:20 p.m. Saturday for a 54-year-old man who had fallen at the mill, said Chief Scott Young. An ambulance took the man to Aspirus Riverview Hospital.

On Monday, a Verso spokesperson said a contractor had died after an accident at the mill Saturday and officials were investigating.

An OSHA spokesperson confirmed Tuesday to a local newspaper the organization is conducting the investigation, and officials will interview any potential witnesses, other mill workers and employers to determine if OSHA standards were being followed at the time of the incident.
