Understanding "Carbon Neutrality"

"Carbon neutral" is a phrase being heard often around the pulp and paper industry these days, as mills everywhere try to keep up with the latest emissions standards.

Up-to-date paper and wood products makers use all parts of their raw material, but they also create more than two-thirds of the energy needed to do so. They burn residuals and use combined heat and technology to maximize efficiency, while providing large-scale greenhouse gas reduction benefits.

Since many people do not understand carbon neutrality, the American Forest and Paper Association has produced a 90-second video to explain it. The free video is available here.
