Saica Group has started its production of corrugated packaging in its new plant in Hamilton, Ohio. The Hamilton facility is Saica's first U.S. corrugated plant, a newly-built 360,000 square-foot building, which includes manufacturing, converting and production areas, along with a warehouse and office space.

Huhtamaki has decided to initiate the process to divest its operations in Russia. This follows an earlier decision to stop all investments in Russia at the outbreak of the invasion of Ukraine. There were no reported injuries and officials are still working to figure out what started the fire.

WestRock says the Panama City mill would "require significant capital investment" to maintain and improve. West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. announced that it will permanently reduce capacity at its pulp mill in Hinton, Alberta ("Hinton Pulp") by the end of this year. One of Hinton Pulp's two production lines will shut, and the remaining line will produce Unbleached Kraft Pulp ("UKP") rather than Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft Pulp ("NBSK").

Enviva Inc. announced it will invest approximately $250 million in Bond, Mississippi to build a new wood pellet production plant. The facility is a key component of the company's growth strategy to double production capacity from the current 6.2 million metric tons annually to approximately 13 million metric tons annually over the next five years.
