Södra acquires Dutch sales company Smartt

Södra has reached an agreement with Robert Jan de Waard and Ronald Rijswijk to acquire all shares in the Dutch company Smartt Timber BV.

Södra already has a shareholding in Smartt, which has served as a successful sales channel for Södra Wood in the Netherlands and Belgium. The Netherlands is a strategically important market for Södra, where Södra has maintained a leading position for a long time. Through the acquisition, Södra demonstrates its long-term commitment to the market and takes the business to the next level, with the aim of further improving the customer offering.

"Through the acquisition, we have the opportunity to increase and improve our local market presence and increase our offering to different market segments and customers in the Netherlands and Belgium," says Södra Wood's Marketing Manager Andreas Jonasson.

Operations will continue as before, and the acquisition will not affect customers or employees. Both Robert Jan de Waard and Ronald Rijswijk. Robert Jan de Waard, former partner, has worked with Södra throughout the partnership and Robert Jan will continue as CEO of the company.

"Södra has been a fantastic partner, and it feels natural that ownership is now transferred to Södra. The collaboration between Södra and Smartt has always worked very well. I am grateful for the expertise and experience we have created together over the years. Our customers can rest assured that Södra will continue to offer the same strong offering with excellent service and high-quality products as we have for many years. The sales contact will also remain the same," says Robert Jan de Waard.

Södra looks forward to continuing its successful journey together with its customers and employees in the Netherlands.
