OnceMore® in collaboration with Filippa K to premiere game-changing recycled material

SWEDEN (Nwes release) -- OnceMore® from Södra is the world's first large-scale process for recycling blended fabrics and is now breaking new ground being implemented in TENCEL™ x REFIBRA™. The Swedish fashion house Filippa K will be the first brand to premiere the fibre in its Spring/Summer 2024 collection, debuting this autumn.

Together with Lenzing, Riopele and Filippa K, we have created a unique collaboration throughout the value chain. Made from a combination of textile waste and wood cellulose, the revolutionary fibre is a product of unique OnceMore® technology from Swedish forest group Södra, and REFIBRA™ technology from Lenzing - the globally-recognised fibre producer behind TENCEL™.

"Our target is to always create a better product than the alternatives and generate as much value as possible throughout the value chain from our 51,000 members' forests. This first-in-class collaboration between OnceMore®, Filippa K, Lenzing and Riopele is an important step to achieve this and keep challenging blended-fibre waste to create a circular textile system," says Lotta Lyrå, CEO of Södra.

Södra, Lenzing, Riopele and Filippa K in unique partnership
The innovative partnership is the latest in the Swedish fashion house Filippa K's ongoing commitment to finding circular solutions in fashion, bringing together the strands of the industry to drive change. More information about the fibre, collaboration and garments will follow in the coming months.

"We are so excited to be the first brand developing products in the new textile based on OnceMore® pulp using Lenzing's REFIBRA™ technology, supported by Riopele's creative expertise in yarn and fabric production. We are not in this alone - collaboration is an essential step in sustainable transformation of the industry. It's important to us at Filippa K to join forces with like-minded partners who are innovators in their own fields," says Jodi Everding, Vice President of Sustainability at Filippa K.

Lenzing: Proactive partnerships enable systemic change
Robert van de Kerkhof, Chief Commercial Officer Fiber of the Lenzing Group, comments:

"One company alone can't solve the pressing issue of textile waste. It is proactive partnerships like this that enable us to move forward and bring about real systemic change. We're working hard to make our industries even more sustainable and to drive the transformation of the textile business model from linear to circular. Further efforts from the entire industry are needed for this transformation to take place."

Riopele: Innovation and Creativity to create a circular future
José Alexandre Oliveira, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Riopele, comments:

"At Riopele, through the aim of innovation and creativity, we manage to transform a new fibre into a sustainable differentiating fabric with outstanding performance. This collaboration with Filippa K, Lenzing and Södra marks a major milestone in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and demonstrates how companies from different backgrounds can work together to create a more circular future. Through this pioneering project, we are setting an example of how fashion can be made with respect for people and the planet."
