New boiler delivered to Georgia Pacific Green Bay, Wisconsin mill
GREEN BAY (From news reports) -- Georgia-Pacific received a delivery June 1, so large its about the size of a three story building.

The natural gas boiler was unloaded at the mill in Green Bay to replace the coal-fired one.

The nearly 200 ton boiler took nearly a week to travel by ship from Ontario.

This is the second natural gas boiler being installed in efforts to help sustainability.

This installation will completely end the use of coal at the site.

"The natural gas boiler is kind of apart of our sustainability effort that we've had for a number of years at the Broadway mill," said Mike Kawleski Georgia-Pacific public affairs manager, "when this facility was built there was nothing but farmland around it and now its right in the middle of the city. As part of being a good neighbor we've done a number of things so this is a continuation of the sustainability efforts."

The boiler will be fully operating by the end of the year.

After that, the next step will be to remove the final smoke stack from the building.
