Motorist killed in log truck accident at entrance of International Paper facility in Georgia

PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (From news reports) -- A fatal crash involving a BMW and a log truck happened just before 3 p.m. Monday, July 21, at the entrance of the International Paper Mill in Port Wentworth.

According to Georgia State Patrol, the BMW, driven by Kelly Sullivan of Bluffton, South Carolina, hit logs being hauled by a log truck protruding from the back of it, as the driver attempted to make a left turn into the paper mill on GA 25.

The BMW then ran off the roadway and hit a tree, according to GSP, while the driver of the log truck entered into the mill to unload the logs. Sullivan was transported to Memorial Hospital, where she later died.

The driver of the truck has not yet been identified. This is an ongoing investigation.
