Georgia-Pacific buys Reliable Container

ATLANTA, Georgia -- Georgia-Pacific announced this week that it has bought Santa Fe Springs Calif.-based Reliable Container Corp. for an undisclosed amount.

The deal includes converting plants in Santa Fe Springs and Tijuana, Mexico. Its nearly 250 employees are now part of Atlanta-based Georgia-Pacific.
Georgia-Pacific expands its corrugated packaging business with the acquisition of Southern California-based Reliable Container.

Reliable Container makes custom corrugated containers and point-of-purchase displays for customers in the furniture, food and beverage, consumer products, auto, electronics, fabricated metal products and services industries.

" Georgia-Pacific has had a working relationship with Reliable Container for many years and now welcomes them as part of our organization, expanding our capability and geographic reach in the important Southern California and Baja region," said Billy Medof, president of GP Corrugated.

Georgia-Pacific Corrugated's products and services include CubeLogic Greenshield, Color-Box Litho-Corr and Brand Ready Packaging.
