WELLS TOWNSHIP, Michigan (From ABC 10 News) -- There was a fire Tuesday morning at the Verso Paper Mill, and Escanaba Public Safety was asked to respond in Wells Township.

A wooden room in the mill caught fire, and at approximately 11:25 a.m., public safety was dispatched to assist the Verso Fire Brigade.

Public safety used one pumper, the 75′ ladder truck, to suppress the fire. The quick response and joint effort of both fire departments, along with the building's sprinkler system, kept the fire from spreading.
