Avery Dennison enters MOU with Indian Institute of Packaging

US-based Avery Dennison has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The MoU has been signed to introduce a Management Development Programme aimed at mid-level professionals in the packaging industry.

The agreement was formalised at IIP's Mumbai campus.

It was signed by R K Mishra, director of IIP and additional director general of foreign trade, Mumbai, on behalf of the institute, and Saurabh Agrawal, vice-president and general manager, Avery Dennison South Asia.

As part of the collaboration, the two organisations will offer a three-day intensive course.

The course is targeted at professionals working in a wide range of segments, including food and beverages, home and personal care, wine and spirits, pharmaceuticals, lubricants, agrochemicals, solar, batteries, automobiles, appliances, and related industries.

The inaugural cohort, limited to 20 participants, is scheduled to commence in March 2026.

The programme will be delivered through sessions at IIP's Mumbai campus and at Avery Dennison's facility in Pune, combining classroom-based learning with practical exposure to industry operations.

According to the agreement, the course will be led by senior industry practitioners, academics and thought leaders in the sector.

It is intended to help mid-career packaging professionals address themes such as AI, sustainability, regulatory compliance and shifting consumer preferences, with an emphasis on equipping them for prospective leadership positions.
