Airmaster Aerator L.L.C. receives new patent

The United States Patent Office awarded Airmaster Aerator L.L.C. patent number 10,301,202 B2 on May 28, 2019. The title of the patent is "System and Method for Aeration by Air Infusion." The inventor is listed as Dean A. Caldwell, DeRidder, LA. Caldwell is the CEO of Airmaster Aerator.

The nineteen-page patent's Abstract reads as follows:

"An air infusion aeration system includes a submersible downdraft tube that carries fluid from its inlet opening to the outlet opening vertically above the inlet opening. The system includes an impeller coupled to the outlet opening and configured to: draw fluid into the inlet opening and provide the drawn fluid into a discharge pressure manifold (DPM) as a fluid stream. The system includes a turbo blower that injects air into the DPM, and the DPM, which includes a center portion and a smaller diameter end portion at opposite ends of the center portion. The DPM is configured to: reduce pressure of the fluid stream at a center of the DPM; within the end portions, receive the air injection into the pressure reduced fluid stream thereby infusing the injected air into the fluid steam; and forcibly discharge the air-infused fluid stream down toward the body of fluid."

The patent holds fifteen claims for originality.

This is the third patent Airmaster Aerator has on their unique methods of sludge pond and lagoon aeration. Airmaster's unique design allows horsepower reduction to as low as one-third of predecessor's designs. Additionally, with the Airmaster Aerator, ponds which had to be drained and mechanically cleaned have been able to avoid this expensive step when Airmaster Aerators are installed.

Airmaster Aerators were used by the Corps of Engineers in Hurricane Katrina canal cleanup in New Orleans. Paper Mills have used Airmaster Aerators to clean and maintain settling ponds using far less energy than conventional aerators.

Today, the wine industry in California is using Airmaster Aerators in treating winery lagoons with phenomenal energy reductions and superior lagoon cleaning. With rebates available from the power companies there, pond maintenance has turned from being a cost to a revenue source.

All stainless construction with only one moving part, the Airmaster Aerator is virtually maintenance free. The Airmaster Aerator comes in 10 to 50 HP sizes. Over 1,000 units have been installed since the late 1990's.
