Ahlstrom-Munksjö builds on its global platform for high-performance filtration material by completing the investment in Madisonville, Kentucky

MADISONVILLE, Kentucky (News release) -- As market demand for high-performance filtration material continue to increase globally, Ahlstrom-Munksjö continues to grow its attractive Filtration business and strengthens its manufacturing platform globally by completing a major investment in its plant in Madisonville, Kentucky.

This EUR 23 million investment was announced in October 2016 and is one of several investments through which Ahlstrom-Munksjö has expanded its filtration manufacturing capabilities globally, in response to growing demand for high performance filtration material, both for engine and industrial applications.

"We can be proud of what we have accomplished in Madisonville, delivering this major investment successfully in time and on budget, states Fulvio Capussotti, EVP Filtration and Performance. This investment significantly strengthens our technical capabilities in the region, supporting the industry with sustainable filtration solutions, and increases our production capacity in the US. It brings new unique product capabilities to the plant, making Madisonville a solid platform to support future needs of our customers. The investment shows our long term commitment and our ambition to maintain a leading position. I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in this project", Fulvio Capussotti concludes.

The Filtration and Performance business area develops and produces filtration materials for transportation as well as industrial applications. It also produces glass fiber media for flooring products and wind turbine blades and makes nonwoven materials for automotive, construction, textile, hygiene applications and wallcover materials.
