TROIS-RIVIERES, QUE. (From news reports) -- An agreement in principle was reached between the management and the union of Kruger Wayagamack, in Trois-Rivières, late Monday evening. About 250 employees have been on an indefinite general strike since June 1.
The paper mill has been at a complete standstill since the strike began.
The workers wanted to obtain better working conditions, particularly with regard to wages and the pension plan.
The vote on the tentative agreement around 11 p.m. should take place by the end of the week, according to the union.
The collective agreement expired on April 30.
