During the April 29 - May 1 FRA 2024 Annual Meeting, the Forest Resources Association's Board of Directors elected Josh Sandt, Vice President, Fiber Procurement & Residuals, Canfor Southern Pine, to serve as the association's Chairman of the Board for the next two years.
Sandt thanked the Board and outgoing Chairman, Pete Stewart, ResourceWise, and stated that he was honored to be selected and looking forward to supporting the important work of the association. He stated that with the world looking toward more green and sustainable products, the opportunities for the forest products industry and its supply chain are tremendous. Sandt noted the importance of effectively telling our story to policymakers to be well-positioned to take advantage of these new market opportunities as they emerge, as well as enhance and strengthen the value of the forest products that have always been core to the industry. Sandt remarked that he was excited to serve for the next two years and looks forward to hearing from members to work together to guide FRA's direction.

Sandt has accumulated over two decades of experience in the forestry industry. Starting from his procurement forester role at Federal Paper Board Co. Inc. in 1995, he has steadily climbed the ranks to hold various management positions in companies, including International Paper and Sustainable Forest Technologies, Inc. Currently, Sandt serves as the Vice President at Canfor, overseeing fiber procurement and residuals. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry & Wildlife from Virginia Tech.
