The mill currently operates one paper machine producing lightweight coated mechanical paper. Following the acquisition, this paper machine will be converted to produce around 420,000 tonnes per annum of high-quality recycled containerboard for an estimated investment of around 200 million euros.
Following an extensive and long-term strategic analysis, Rottneros' Board of Directors has decided to discontinue the production of groundwood pulp in Rottneros Mill as there are no prospects for long-term sustainable profitability. The decision means that about 40 people will be made redundant. The Group plans to invest 160 - 200 MSEK ($15.48 million to 19.35 million USD) to significantly increase capacity and production in the mill's CTMP line.
Clearon produces trichloroisocyanuric acid (trichlor) and dichloroisocyanuric acid at its South Charleston, WV. plant and converts the products finished goods at its tableting and packaging facility.
