PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. (From news reports) -- More bad news for the forestry industry.
Sinclar Group Forest Products Ltd. has announced two week curtailments at its sawmill operations in Prince George, Vanderhoof and Fort St. James starting August 19.
The company blames the move on market conditions. Affected operations include Lakeland Mills in Prince George, Nechako Lumber in Vanderhoof and Apollo Forest Products in Fort St. James.
The announcement follows recently announced curtailments by Canfor in Mackenzie and the elimination of one shift at its Isle Pierre sawmill west of Prince George.
In Quesnel, Tolko's Quest Wood operation closes permanently this month costing 150 jobs.
