IFCO Bareroot to acquire four Weyerhaeuser nursery operations | Weyerhaeuser, divestment, forestry, Washington,

IFCO Bareroot, LLC, a sister company to International Forest Company (IFCO), has reached an agreement with Weyerhaeuser Company to purchase four forest seedling nurseries as well as the Flint River Seed Orchard. These nurseries are located in Jesup, Georgia, Washington, North Carolina, Pine Hill, Alabama, and Shubuta, Mississippi. The transaction is expected to complete in early 2017, once existing crops are harvested and shipped.

The four Weyerhaeuser nurseries are predominantly bareroot forest seedlings nurseries, but there is also containerized seedling production at the Washington, NC Nursery.

Total seedling production of these nurseries is in excess of 155 million. Combined with the containerized seedling capacity of existing IFCO Nurseries IFCO will have a total seedling production capacity of over 250 million seedlings annually. Operations will be under IFCO ownership starting with the 2017 sowing season or approximately April 1, 2017.
