LYNCHBURG, Virginia (From news reports) -- Workers evacuated the International Paper facility in Lynchburg, Virginia on Tuesday evening after a fire broke out in paper production equipment at the site.

Crews were called to International Paper's corrugated box plant at about 8 p.m. The flames in the paper lines were extinguished in under 30 minutes.

The facility sustained some damages due to smoke and flames, Lynchburg Fire Battalion Chief Kenny Turner said. No injuries were logged during the incident.

International Paper's Manufacturing Manager for the Lynchburg site, Louie Parcher, said in an interview that the fire was limited to the piece of equipment. The company official said work is underway to assess the damages to the facility.

Local fire officials have opened an investigation into the blaze's cause.
