Daio Paper to reconstruct boiler at its subsidiary Iwaki Daio Paper | Japan,

Daio Paper Corp. announces plans to spend approximately 19 billion yen to reconstruct the boiler at its subsidiary, Iwaki Daio Paper Corp., based in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.

Regarding the accident that damaged a boiler on September 6, 2022, Daio Paper's Board of Directors voted to approve a boiler reconstruction plan calling for the adoption of recurrence-preventing measures addressing multiple presumed causes of the explosion based on the accident investigation report.

Through the boiler reconstruction, Iwaki Daio is scheduled to turn the relevant factory into one that not only recycles raw materials (producing newsprint and containerboard from used paper) but also ensures thermal recycling in which all fuel is based on non-petroleum sources such as woodchips, RPF and waste.

Daio Paper Corporation is Japan's third largest full-range paper manufacturer, producing goods in the segment of home and personal care.
