Port Hawkesbury Paper Mill Update

Statement from Port Hawkesbury Paper: We would like to provide an update regarding the announcement by West Linn Paper Company that it is ceasing operations.

It is with disappointment that we learned of West Linn Paper's closure. The mill has a proud history of 128 years, including the past 20 years since it was restarted under the current ownership. We understand that operating as a non-integrated paper mill was ultimately impossible in today's challenging marketplace, particularly given recent events resulting in a significant reduction of pulp availability.

At Port Hawkesbury Paper, it will be business as usual. As you know, Port Hawkesbury Paper is a separate entity and has stood on its own since the resumption of operations in 2012. Our long-term focus remains unchanged - producing the highest quality paper in the safest and most cost-effective manner possible. We continue to invest significant capital in our mill, with the goal of remaining the best supercalendered paper facility in North America.

We are also pleased to share with you that we are celebrating our 5th anniversary (later this month). We appreciate your ongoing business and support and look forward to continuing to work together as partners.
