Part of roof at Graphic Packaging facility falls onto baler, starts fire

WEST MONROE, LA. (From news reports) -- Part of the roof collapsed onto a baling machine at a Louisiana Graphic Packaging facility, starting a fire.

Graphic Packaging International spokeswoman Sue Appleyard said that nobody was hurt, and the fire was confined to one location at the plant.

She says operations continue in the rest of the plant in West Monroe.

The Ouachita Parish Fire Department says it was called shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday. Fire Investigator Dustin Harris says small smoldering fires started in paper in the building.
